I played two of the four events, the plain & simple no limit ones. The first was the £1000 short stacked event with players starting with just 3000 chips. In actual fact, the structure itself was very god & if you could get your head around the lowly starting stack it actually played ok. As a testament to this I was actually able to lay kings down pre-flop in Level 2.
It’s not often we get a $5000 buy-in event on our doorstep here in Nottingham so I was really excited to be playing the EPO at DTD. The field was just over two hundred big with a good mix of players, from some big name American pros, plenty of internet qualifiers & a good local contingent who’d qualified through the live satellites.
The numbers were a little down on previous years & with the EPT now paying 15% of the field the top prize was down significantly from 1.3m to 850k; still worth fighting for I’d say!
