    What is Disconnection Protection (DP)?

At William Hill Poker, Hand Protection is in place to deal with the problem of internet connection loss during Poker hand play.

In the event that a player is disconnected while participating in a hand, they will be able to continue in the hand and participate in the showdown for an amount equal to that of the pot up until the point of disconnection.

In other words, the player will not be eligible to win more than the pot amount at the time of their last move while still connected. The same thing occurs when a player runs out of money mid hand.

Hand Protection is in place for genuine disconnections only. Any player deemed to misuse this protection by intentionally disconnecting, may:

    - Forfeit any monies won
    - Lose Hand Protection privileges
    - Face expulsion from the site

Players must accept the risk of disconnections. They can and do occur. Cash tables with no hand protection measures in place are available for players who wish to use them at their own risk.

If your play is interrupted or ends abruptly, it is most likely that your internet connection to our server has for some reason failed. To resume play, simply reload the game in your browser and you should automatically be returned to your table.

Can I play in my Country of Residence?

Unfortunately, at the current time we are unable to accept Poker players from the following countries:

    Tournament Types

    Freezeout

Every player begins with the same amount of chips and the tournament continues until one player has won all of the chips. As soon as a player loses their chips, they are eliminated from the tournament. Prizes relate to the finishing position of each player, and the number of places paid is in relation to the total number of players that have entered the tournament.

    Rebuy

This is similar to a freezeout tournament but has an additional feature; players that lose all of their chips within a specified time period can purchase additional chips for the same cost of the original buy-in.

Note: this rebuy period is for a specified amount of time only, usually 30 or 60 minutes.

There is also an add-on option after the rebuy period. This is open to the rest of the players and allows additional chips to be purchased at the value of the original buy-in. If a player loses all their chips on the final hand before the add-on option begins, they can purchase a rebuy and an add-on at this stage. The tournament then continues as a freezeout until one player wins all the chips, with the prize structure similar to that of a freezeout.

    Turbo

Blind levels increase at a faster rate in a turbo tournament. Players have the same amount of time to act on their turn, but the blind speed affects strategy. Turbo tournaments come in both freezeout and rebuy format. Note: a turbo rebuy would have a shorter rebuy period.
